When I logged in with my password and tried to delete my account it said password invalid??? Really?? how did they let me in the system in the first place???
Sounds like you have a few more issues than just deleting your account. Maybe a call into Square is in order. Good Luck.
I have been trying to delete my account for weeks but but I keep getting an error message saying "New Merchant Model cannot be marked as deleted". I have no idea what that means. Other times I have tried to delete it the "deactivate" button is grayed out. I called Square but the agent said "he does not handle that area and someone that does will call me. I never got a call. I am thinking of just going through my credit card company.
So, why are you trying to delete your account? Are you worried about security or someone gaining access to it - if not in use? Are you trying to make a new accout? I need a little more information before I can help.
It does not offer the features our business needs. I tried to state that in the deactivation survey square has you fill out when you cancel but It won't let me submit the form.

So let it go. If you are worried about leaving personal information then change the information, ie; business accounts name address phones number to other and walk away. I assure you knowone will get access and eventually it will be deleted. However, if you just can't stand someone having that information (I am one of those) then change all the data to bogus and delete all the items and other test items you used. IF ALL TRANSATIONS ARE COMPLETE.
It you have used this business for eve ONE transaction it will NOT be deleted as it is required by the IRS for sqare to maintain this information for tax purposes.
If you are unable to make square work in your situation then walk away.
