How do I set sales tax on portion of price over exempt base amount?

In Massachusetts, clothing articles are exempt from sales tax for the first $175 any value above that is taxable @ 6.25%.

Understood. Thank you for that information. With Square we currently do not have a feature that allows you to set up a tax rule for a given amount. We definitely see how it could benefit your business model. Our product teams are constantly looking through our seller's feedback to make necessary improvements.
