In the online store, and on the POS, we need to be able to quickly and easily set an item as being out of stock.
However, we don't use inventoried items, because that is too much time and overhead to manage.
How can we set an item as being out of stock without using inventory amounts?
This is something that is so very easy to do with DoorDash, and I would thing that Square would be able to do it as well...?

Hmm, you do need to set an inventory level for an items to appear as 'Out of Stock' from your Online Store when it's sold out. This happens automatically when the inventory reaches 0.
If you need to manually mark an item as out of stock you can set the stock level for that item from your Online Store Dashboard to 0. You might want to take a look at our eCommerce integrations too if Square's Online Store doesn't have everything you need for your business.
