How do I get one register to SAVE changes forever and not have to change everyday?

I have one register at our small bar where we want to print out a recipet every time with the tip line, even under $25. We change it every morning, because the system doesnt SAVE the changes. Our other register is opposite and it goes back to the other settings. We just neeed the settings to save forever, please.

Hi @Chompers - Settings will sync across all devices so unfortunately, there isn't a way for each device to have it's own individual settings. Occasionally, there can be a lag in the sync which is why each device will hold its individual settings for awhile. A reboot of your system will typically resolve the lag which is why your settings are changed upon turning your system back on.

Thanks. Will there ever be a time when each terminal can have its own setting? Pretty big deal for our restaurant.

Unfortunately, I don't have anything to share on when or if this feature might be implemented. However, the current workaround would be to create an additional location and have each Register signed in as separate locations. This will keep them from syncing their settings. The catch here is that your transactions and reporting between the two will also be separate. If that's okay with you, then it would be your best bet.

I have three Ipad 4s on a square stand each running the Square App.  One of the devices is in my office and the other two are in our snack bar.  I want to have the office terminal (device) print a receipt for signature or Signature on Printed Receipt.  I want the two snack bar devices to allow for Signature on Ipad only. However, when I make these specific setting changes on each device, they all revert to the same setting that was just made.  In other words, when the office register is set to Signature on Printed Receipt, the two snack bar devices become set to Signature on Printed Receipt.  When I go in the snack bar to make it Signature on Ipad, the office device changes to Signature on Ipad.  I thought these settings were device specific.  Can anyone elaborate?

Hi @skatecountrywb - I've merged your post here as I answered a similar question. While this refers to the Square Register, the same answer applies to all devices using Square. I also recommend the same suggestion I made above to set two different locations for your snack bar and your office.

I was wondering if there has been any update on this option. I think there are a lot of businesses like ours that use the devices in different ways in the same location.

 

Also, the pricing structure makes it difficult to justify adding a location when employee management/other services are billed by # of locations.

Let us chime in that we really want this feature as well! We want customers to sign at the device where we have walk-up bar service and sign on a receipt where we ave table service.
