Hi, I'm trying to customize my booking page to allow for customers to book an item for rent for more than one day. All the information posted says I can only list one appointment per day, with the results being quite outdated (2017). Why has this not been an added feature or been improved upon since 2017? Thanks
Hi @gilc13. None of us can possibly give you a satisfactory answer to a “why hasn’t Square….” question. And, like most large corporations, Square probably won’t. They obviously haven’t added this, and they have their reasons. Here’s what we know, though.
When feature requests are submitted, the appropriate Square product team reviews them and makes an initial determination to either accept it or not. If they don’t accept it, it’s pretty much over at that point, at least for the short term. And, even if they do accept it, changes won’t be immediate and there is no guarantee. Square likes to see if other sellers jump in and support that feature.
One thing I know for sure. If you’re seeing a feature request or a thread thread that hasn’t been updated since 2017, chances are pretty good that this is not being worked on, OR that it is and is possibly in a beta test with a limited number of sellers. You can go here to see current betas. If you see a promising beta in the list, ask to join it and see.
Of course, you can always submit a feature request to the Appointments Team here.
Lastly, Square allows third-party developers to integrate with them to add features into the Square ecosystem. You can go to the App Marketplace and search. It’s very possible that someone else has already integrated with Square to do exactly what you need.
