How do I automatically send an email to people who sign up for email marketing?

When someone signs up to be on my email list, I'd like them to recieve an email with a coupon in it. All the other email systems I've seen offer this, but I am unable to find it in Square. Am I missing it somewhere?

I tried to make an automated campaign and selected my smart group of email collection, I can see email addresses being added to the group, but the email never sends.

Welcome back to the Community!

 

Sending a new customer email can be automated if you're utilizing Square Marketing. There is a specific campaign to select, so it will get sent to the customer within 24 hours of their visit. 

 

Visit your Dashboard > Marketing > Scroll down to Automated Campaigns > Select New Customer. 

 

From there make the customizations you want to the email.

I just took a look at this and its not what I'm looking for, this says it will send the email "after a customers first visit." I'm looking to be able to post to social media or for people visiting my website to sign up to receive emails and then for an automated email be sent to them thanking them for signing up to receive emails and probably having a coupon inside. Or like if I'm at an event and collecting emails, not selling anything, those people should get an automated response as soon as they sign up.

There is an option to create a Facebook Campaign to send other promotions, but currently there isn't anything exactly what you're looking for. 

 

I would be able to add this as a Feature Request for our Product Team though. It will help evolve our Marketing platform to what our seller need to use it for.
