I am trying to add a convenience fee of $2 per order on my online store and I cannot for the life of me figure it out! Can someone please help!
Hi there, @Bmagix84 👋 Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Seller Community and make your first post! Welcome! We are happy to have you in the fold.
This is a good question. Have you tried setting up your flat fee as a Tax? Tax rates will give you the ability to set a percentage cost or a flat fee to be added to each sale, and you can re-name the tax to reflect Convenience Fee or something of the like for customer notification on receipts.
You could also try creating a separate item altogether and labeling it as a Convenience Fee. You could then manually add this item to each sale and charge your customers.
Let me know if this information is helpful! I want to make sure this gets solved for you.
Hi Joe,
I tried that but I cannot figure out how to change it from a percentage to a flat fee of $2? Is there a way to do that?
Thanks for your help!
Best,
Brian
No problem @Bmagix84 - one clarifying question, are you using the Online Dashboard for setup or the mobile POS app?
I will keep an eye out for your response!
Im using the Online dashboard.
Hi there, @Bmagix84 - thanks for the prompt reply! I need to course correct myself on this one. I tested out creating a tax from the Dashboard, at it looks like a percentage setting is the only option for a tax.
In lieu, I would suggest making an individual 'item' to create your custom fee, and then manually add that fee to each transaction.
Let me know if that works!
Has this been solved yet? I would like to add a "takeout fee", since to-go boxes are so expensive now. Is there any option to do this, outside of making up a tax percentage? When it's an online order, I cannot manually enter it, since the guests have already ordered and paid.
