Hello-
I am hoping someone can help me out. I have a unique situation that I am trying to solve. Our store uses Square for Retail, and we also have the mobile app on our phones for sales aways from the store. We ran a booth with some of our products at an exhibition booth this past weekend. Unfortunately, the couple who was taking payments didn't enter the correct items on a lot of the sales. I am trying to figure out a way to change the sku's to accurately reflect the items. I can't seem to find a way to do this. I am hoping that it's possible and not that difficult and that I am just missing it.
Any help would be super appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Dave
Hey @Coastland!
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
Before I jump into this, I want to make sure I understand what you're trying to do. You should be able to select any item from your Item Library and adjust the SKU. This will then reflect the accurate (new) SKU when you search for the item in Inventory History.
Would you mind replying with a bit more information on why you would adjust the SKU or what you're trying to correct?
Let me know, as I want to make sure we get this figured out 🤓.
@isabelle Thanks for the reply. I don't think I was clear enough in my original post, so let me see if I can clarify.
Does this make sense? I know it's a bit unusual, but I'm hoping that there is a way to fix this.
Any help would be much appreciated
Hey @Coastland!
Thanks for your reply and clarity.
This makes sense now. Unfortunately, there's no way to locate a sale, and edit the items (or their SKUs) within the sale. The only somewhat workaround for this would be to locate the items in your Item Library that the seller accidentally sold, edit the SKU on the item to reflect the correct SKU (that was actually sold), and it will backdate so it looks accurate when viewing the Inventory History. Sorry about that.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to call us to speak with a Square for Retail specialist for any other suggestions.
