We need to get a corrected 1099 K form, as the details don't reflect the correct EIN. What steps do we take?
Happy to help provide some guidance here. To receive an updated 1099-K form from, you'll need to follow these steps:
1. Update your business taxpayer information on your Square Dashboard. You'll need to ensure that the system accepts the tax identification number and name combination.
2. After editing your information and clicking Save, the 1099-K form should automatically update. You can confirm this by downloading the form available on that page. If you're getting an error message, please double check with your EIN assignment letter if you're not using your name and SSN.
Hope this helps!

I have the same issue and its been an exhaustive process to get Square to regenerate the correct 1099-k forms. Its been a month since I first contacted Square about this and it has still yet to be resolved. I'm now a week past the IRS deadline to provide proper documentation and I'm extremely frustrated with how Square support has handled this issue. They have asked for additional information which I had already provided at the beginning of the issue and also requested me to make appropriate EIN and address change within the Square setup, which I have also previously taken care of. As of today, still no ETA and I am unable to get any escalation to higher level support management to address. Extremely poor support service on this one for sure.
I’m having the same issue as well. And I’ve been trying to get a corrected form from 2017 since 2020. Every time I contact support they tell me to send bank statements, which I do and then nothing. And then they close the support case and I have to start over. So frustrating. Good luck getting anywhere with Square. Considering another processing company because their lack of support in inexcusable.
