Glitch in Turning Off Online Store

Is anyone else having issues turning off their online store?  We're a food trailer and when we run low on burger patties we turn off the online ordering system.  Today, we received 4 orders after we shut down the online store (approx. 10 minutes after).  I assume this is a glitch with people and open carts allowed to continue their transaction.  We've had this happen up to 30 minutes post turning off the online store.  So far we haven't had to issue refunds, but I see this becoming a problem in the future if the problem isn't fixed via a timeout feature for carts or some kind of drop dead on/off function for the online store.

Our hours for ordering are set.  My concern is when we manually turn off the checkout, we've received orders over 20 minutes later after shutting down.   This shouldn't happen.  My guess is they are sitting with an open cart prior to us turning off the checkout.  The carts should time out but they aren't.

Hi there, just jumping in to confirm that we occasionally see the same issue. After we turn pickup off, orders sometimes still come through. We can only assume this happens when someone has an active shopping cart at the time that we turn pickup off.

Correct sir!  They refuse to add a timeout feature to active shopping carts (10, 20 minutes,  etc).  I've had customers admit they've started their order at roughly 11am and finished it at 4pm.  We turned off ordering at roughly 2pm and the order came through just after 4pm.  My new workaround is to unpublish the website, turn off ordering and then republish the website.
