Fixed tax amount rather than %

I have a need to apply a fixed taxed amount, for example $2.50, to every invoice as opposed to a percentage.  Does anyone know how I can do that in Square?  There are many instances that can occur when dealing with vehicle and property rentals, plus other things as well related to tourism.  I can't use an item, because in the online store a customer will leave it off and we are still subject to paying it.

Different price points for your items may help solve this issue. Though it will not be a separate line item, price points do allow you to have different prices for one item (eg. a price with the $2.50 charge and a price without). Customers are required to choose a price point at the time of adding the item to their Online Basket so you won't need to worry about them forgetting! 

If you are sending an invoice to your customers, an item should work as you add all of the items to the invoice and your customer does not have the ability to remove an item or only pay a portion of the invoice.

Is there any update to this? I have items that the state requires a certain fixed rate tax on top of the sales tax. Is there a way to now charge and additional fixed rate tax or at least a way to auto add the tax as an item when the certain item is added to the cart?
