Researching what Square can do and came across this:
The Fake-It-Filter allows you to manage how busy you’d like to appear on your client facing bookable calendar.
How exactly is this applied to the schedule?
From my testing it literaly just cuts the apointments available by the percentage. If half the day is filled with real apointments it still cuts the amount of apointments by 50% if you have that setting. Could someone confirm this?
If this is the case the feature could be a little smarter by taking that percentage down as the day fills with apointments.
Can the fake it filter be customized per team member?
Hi @CMAGS!
I merged your post to a relevant thread on the fake-it filter.
You can't customize it per team member unfortunately. It would filter the entire account. Do you have more details on how this would be useful for your business? I can pass this along to our Appointments team if so!
I think havinG the fake it filter per technician would be helpful in the case:
Mary is already 75% booked
and
Ruth is only 15% booked
Mary would love to make it so she has no fake it filter
Ruth might want to make hers to be 50%
Hi,
It makes sense to have an employee have availability throughout the whole day if they work certain days of the week vs someone who is constantly there but needs time to run other things while in store but can't always block off time. As a business owner, its hard to allocate time for interacting with new customers while constantly updating their time.
Switched to Square Appointments 2 years ago and it definitely has its pluses and minuses. The Fake-It Filter does not work for me.
The point of online booking is to free up valuable time. When Fake-It is on, huge gaps remain unbooked or clients call complaining I’m booked up and I have to book them myself.
if Square Appointments could create a formula that shows availability, bumped up to an already booked appointment, closing gaps in your schedule. This feature is a given in other scheduling websites.
I’ve chosen to stay with Square Appointments since all my payments and booking is connected. Since I’m a solo employee Square Appointments is free.
I’d happily pay a monthly fee if it “paid for itself” instead of losing me the lost income from gaps and me scrambling to move clients around to fill my schedule... which a booking program should do.
Agreed - it would also be great to reduce the amount hidden as bookings increase to really capitalize on appointments.
