We reconcile our sales through invoices in our booking / sales software, and we run cards through square. We have to enter the invoice number into square notes so that our bookkeepers can reconcile said invoices to sales transactions. Probably 10 times a week, for over 10 years, we have made mistakes (humans) and there is no way to edit the note. We get condescending emails from the bookkeepers. None of it is ideal and I'm considering changing payment provider for this reason. With how user-friendly square is, how has this never changed? Or if it has, please tell me?

I am trying to understand a bit here. You have a booking/sales software that is not associated with Square but when it comes to processing the payments you process them via Square?
Where I am trying to accomplish here is, to find alternatives to not having to rely on entering notes and that way reduce human error. I would love a bit more context so I can dig deeper into your situation.
