I have a retail gift shop and often times I have several customers shopping at the same time. My old POS system would allow you to start ringing up a customer and then put the sale "on hold" so you could ring a different customer up and then return to the previous customer. I don't see any way to do this so I'm assuming that the answer is no but I thought I'd ask anyway. It was a really useful feature.
no can do. But we get around it by having additional tablets, and use them for line busting and for table service at our cafe. It iss trickeir with cash sales unless you enable drawer management on all the tablets, or you could have a credit card only tablet.
That's what I thought. Perhaps they will add that feature in the future. Thanks for your response.
You can actually use Open Tickets to do just this. https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5337-use-open-tickets-with-square
You have to turn on Open Tickets. Then you'll just need to Save the first customer's purchase with a name and then ring up the next customer. When the first customer is ready to finish, you can pull up that saved bill with the Tickets button. It works quite well, and you can even pull up the open ticket on a different device.
Yea!!! Thanks so much! This is awesome. 🙂 It works great!
deleted my comment since my wife beat me to this answer.
But yes this feature is in Square and very useful.
