I typically sell my books online from home, but tomorrow, I am going to another city for a special event to sell books and I have input the tax info, but I'm wondering how square figures out when I'm in that location to charge those specific taxes?
@RONISUE - Welcome to the Seller Community, and kudos on your first post! 👏 As for your quesiton, we don't currently have any sort of tax automation based on location. You would just need to make sure and enable that tax, as well as disable the other tax. You wouldn't want to double tax your customers! For a fresher, I'd suggest checking out this Support Center article on modifying your tax settings. Hope this helps!
May I also suggest you get some advice from the local powers that be. You may find that you are exempt or can apply for an exemtion from local tax when you are only their for the day. Are you writing a check before you leave the location to pay towards tax? If so then you are NOT collecting tax you are paying tax and this can be done seperate from the sale and just included as a fee for your book. You may also choose to obsorb the tax and just pay it as a vender would pay a fee to sell in a specific location. This too would help with your books. [accounting books] Good luck - if this is a regular gig that will be repeated then @Sean's suggestion is the best.
