I incorrectly entered a price on my key pad. How do I edit the amount or delete it?

Quick clarification please: have you already closed out the sale?
If so, there isn't a way to reopen a ticket to delete it. Your best bet is to refund the amount. You can do refunds from the Transactions section of the app. Just look for the dollar amount you rang in.
If you haven't closed out the sale yet, you can remove the item. On the right side of the screen, find the item and swipe left on it.

I was practicing my new square so I had not closed out. If I enter one or 2 incorrect numbers during check out I can swipe left on the item and start over? Recommendations for the best beginner tutorials for the mag stripe lightening? Thank you!
Yes, you can always remove any item from the order before you close out the ticket. Once it's closed though you have to use refunds.

my only solution is to close tyhe app and start up -- this takes too long -- with customer waiting

Welcome back to the Community.
Check out the bottom left corner on your Point of Sale keypad - there should be a "C" that you can use to clear out those incorrect prices.
