Customers want to pre pay

Hey there everyone!

I am wondering about pre paying...

I own a little coffee drive thru, and I have multiple customers who want to pre pay for thier drinks, so when they come through its quicker. I know there is an option to save a card on file, but many of them want to pre pay with cash.

So my question is, is there a way to add funds to a customers account, and use those funds over time?
Other wise, we are keeping track on paper, and during our busy times its easy to forget to update thier info.

So us, this feature would be a life saver!

Hello my name is Jake. I Ruin a lawn care, landscaping company and I believe that you can stop accounts tailored for certain people's needs. I know I was able to use recurring billing if that helps you at all. Please feel free to get ahold me for any work you may need done Thank you

Hey @UnderstoryCoffe, thanks for bringing this up.

At this time, the ability to prepay the way that you've described isn't available though I do have a few suggestions that may help:

  • If you're set up with Online Store, you could enable the pickup option and offer it to your customers. Learn more here: Manage Pickup Orders.
  • You might also consider trying out Square Gift Cards or creating your own punch card system. These options would allow people to pay ahead, though you'd still have to complete the gift card payment or remember to punch the card manually. In any case, it might help speed things along.

I can certainly see how this would be really helpful for creating an efficient and friendly experience for your regular customers—not to mention would prevent the likelihood of missing sale during busy times. Rest assured that I'll be sharing your post with our Point of Sale team and point out areas for improvement. Please don't hesitate to reply with any other questions or concerns. 🙂
