How do I run a report that will give me a customer yearly purchases?

Great question @UniqueToeRings, and not an obvious thing to find. There are a couple of ways to view the activity of your customers, the only method I've found to run a report is below.

 

First, you can go to your customer tab, search the customer in question and look at their activity. Clicking "show more" will continue to add their recent history. This provides a visual not a report. 

 

Second, for loyalty customers, there is some information available via your loyalty tab. This is handy to see who your top supporters are and find creative ways to reward them for being amazing! Eventually, you'll end up at the same customer profile above when you get down to the individual you're looking for. 

 

To run a report, here is my method:

 

  1. Click the hamburger menu (top left)
  2. Go to "Transactions"
  3. Choose a date range (left side of top nav bar, below hamburger menu)
  4. Identify the search box (right side of top nav bar)
    1. select the drop-down menu (left of the search box)
    2. choose to filter by customer name (could also use last 4 of ccard, etc.)
  5. Enter customer name in search box
  6. Tap "Enter" (or click outside the search box)

A report will generate, you'll have the option to export if you'd like to.

If you have Square Loyalty then you can go to the customers tab, select the customer you want to view and it will let you see their customer history. It’s not really a report per say so not sure if you can print it out but it’s very helpful for me because I am able to look up a customers purchase if they have a warranty issue or if I want to see their purchase history to decide how much leeway I want to extend as a courtesy to our normal policies
