My contactless chip reader would not connect the second show I tried to use it. I use the iPhone 6 Plus. The reader shows that it is charged but would not connect even though my phone indicated I was connected to the WiFi as a guest at the show.
Be sure you have your phone's bluetooth turned on. Sometimes it turns itself off.
