In the restaurant side, when I take a check as a payment, for the optional note, I usually put the check name or name on the check. However when we run the register report at the end of the night, the checks show up under "other". Is there a way to make that a little more clear and separate payment types out?
@dresdenelks I had hoped that the answer was as simple as pointing you to the Custom Report builder in the Reports section of your dashboard. Alas, it seems to have the same limitations. SO…… I hope you don’t mind (for now, at least) downloading a CSV from your dashboard and then using a spreadsheet to get what you want.
The Transactions CSV has the three columns in blue below — Other tender, Other tender type (assuming this would be “Check” if you have the Check payment method enabled), and Other Tender Note which should be what you enter when a check is received. You could sort on the second of the two columns and delete all lines except the ones that say Check.
Yup, it’s clunky but I believe workable. You’d have the transaction numbers so you could get other information later if you needed.
