Clients using bad credit cards/debit cards for no show protection

Square Appointments is the brain of our rehearsal studio business.  However - we have had issues where clients use a card to book a session online, but when we go to charge a late cancellation fee or no-show, the payment is declined.  I get the feeling that many of our clients use “pre-pay” debut cards to book studio time.  Any ideas besides prepay?  (Bands are broke and need to be able to split payment at the time of the session)

Hello @thebandcave

It could be that their credit line is maxed or they don't have enough funds in their checking to cover the no-show fee. If bands are splitting a payment at the time of the session, I'd be surprised if they were carrying a balance to cover the no-show fee.
