I have a customer that paid an initial deposit. (I have a contract signed that the initial deposit is retained) and has since ghosted me in regards to completing the job. (I'm a graphic artist)
Therefore, I'd like to cancel the rest of the invoice. Silly question - when I do that - I still retain the initial amount paid, correct?
I don't want to cancel it and then lose the initial amount that was paid.

You can cancel this invoice- and unless you process a refund on the deposit the initial amount will be retained.
