I group items together in Square, so I can access as many SKUs in the Square grids as possible. For example, I'll have a item called 'Candy' and have the following variants: '3 Musketeers', 'Snickers', 'Milky Way', etc. Seems like I used to be able to search for 'snickers' and get the variant to show up, but no more. I am using version 5.0.1 if that helps.
Hi @ranchosierra! I just tested this and there isn't a way to bring up an item if you search by the name of the variant. BUt you type in the SKU assigned to the variant to the search bar at checkout, or scan the barcode, it'll bring it up the item variant right away. I see how this would be helpful!
Well, if I knew the SKU associated with the variant, I wouldn't need the search feature. I actually ran into this issue while searching for a 'Kind' bar. Did I have it under Snack bars or Nuts? Could not find it under either, so I tried searching and found nothing. Turns out it was under Candy, but that hadn't even occurred to me.
I think it would be a great feature to expand search to variants.
Hi, I think having the ability to search by variant name on the Square Terminal should be implemented. The search of items on the website will include variants so I'm not sure why the terminal would be different.
