Can you scan items right into a sale instead of having to press the screen too?

 Hello!
I need to be able to scan an item with my bar code scanner, and have it add to the sale so I can check out customers multiple items quickly. However, what I have to do is press the search item bar, scan the item (which brings up the item) and then i have to press the screen again on that item to add it to the sale...that's a lot of steps and awkward and time consuming when trying to cash out multiple items. Is there a setting I don't know about that makes rapid scanning possible?

Sounds like you are using a scanner that is not compatible or is not set up correctly.  What hardware are you using?  What tablet are you using?

I'm using the recommend Socket Mobile CHS 7Ci Bluetooth scanner with an android galaxy tab s2 tablet. Does it really let you just scan fast for you without having to touch the item on the screen you just scanner just to add it each time?

Bluetooth scanners are only compatible with iPads. If you have an iPad it works as expected.

For Android, you need to use a wired USB scanner (Mine is by Honeywell), and as long as the bar codes are in the SKU field, it works like you want it to work.
