Ran into some trouble trying to manually create an appointment for my client. I require deposits in the form of pre-payments. They filled out my credit authorization form (this is a document I've made myself separate from square) and confirmed all of the information was correct. When I created the appointment on my laptop, I selected the require pre-payment option. The appointment was created, but I didn't see any transaction history of a pre-payment being made. I went back to the appointment and tried to charge again, but I got a decline error. My client called their bank and said they weren't having any issues on their end.
I've been searching online about why my manual card charge isn't going through on my appointments page, and saw that some posts were saying that you need to charge through the virtual terminal? Can I only make manual card charges through that and not directly on my client's appointment page? Regardless, I just got rid of the pre-payment for my client's appointment and sent them a direct invoice instead to work around this issue.
Thanks!
Wanted to clarify as well, when I created the appointment I manually added their card for pre-payment. When there was no transaction history/confirmation that it went through, I manually added the card again to my client's profile and tried charging the pre-payment again and got a decline error.
