At a cafe, we plan to go from using one Square Registers to using two of them.
We tell customers who order entrées to listen for their ticket numbers.
Each Square Register uses its own ticket-number range of 01 through 99.
This creates the possibility of two unrelated tickets with the same number (let's
say 53) being issued independently at about the same, one from each Square
Register. I'd expect this situation to arise maybe twice a month.
I'm concerned that having two tickets numbered 53 will create confusion for
the kitchen or for the two customers who are waiting for the same order
number.
Does this risk exist?
Is there a way to allow each Square Register to have its own distinctive
ticket-number range, to prevent the issuance of two unrelated tickets
with the same number at around the same time?
I forgot to say that I'm aware that a printer in SR can be set up
to allow each order to be given a customer name or barista-
assigned number, rather than use the standard range of 01
through 99. That would create various problems for our cafe,
so that's not a useful option for us.
Hey @tyrosqdome. Good question!
I checked in with our Register team to see if this is possible, but unfortunately it's a feature request. I did also ask if there's a workaround, but there's nothing at this time.
I passed this along to our team, so they're aware of the want!
