I had to request a new Square reader recently, but before I get it, I need to be able to process credit card transactions manually. Previously, I used to be able to just get into the app, click on the "Charge" bar at the top of the menu, and it would give me the option to click on Credit/Debit card. Now it only shows Gift Card, Cash, and Other. The very top of the page shows "$1 Minimum for Cards" but it is grayed out, so I can't even click on it.
What happened? How can I get the feature back to work?
Hoping there is an easy solution to my dilemma.
Thank you!

I have purchased the new chip card reader. I need to know if someone has a chip card, and I need to manually enter their card information, Will I be able to process the transaction the same as before manually.
You may enter the info manually but remember that with the new liability law you will be responsible if it is a fraud.

Thank you! VanKalkerFarms!!!!
Hello @jewelsgalore, it sounds like you haven't entered an amount for the sale prior to hitting charge. This would cause the "$1 Minimum for Credit Cards". @VanKalkerFarms step by step guide will cover this!
I feel so stupid! I recently updated my IOS version to the 11. something on my iPhone, and it changed the way it looks! I just realized that down at the bottom there are 2 options. I had the option where it only showed "charge" so I couldn't enter an amount. I just clicked on the other option, where I can enter the charge amount first! Thanks so much!! Little things make me happy!
Trying to input a customer's card manually and it declined, is this possible with square?
Yes, VanKalker posted a link to an article explaining how to manually enter a card for payment. I merged you so you can see his post above. @Meags
