Can an automatic discount be applied to my online store?

I created a discount to do a buy 2 get 1 free of various 6-packs. It's my first time doing this, so hopefully I did it right. However, it isn't applying when I went to test it on my online store. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for posting on our Seller Community. Sorry to hear that your discount is not working as expected. Did you create your discount in your Square Online store or your Square Dashboard?

Why should that matter!? (Online Store or Dashboard) It's not like there are boxes to check whether I want it on my POS, website, or both. I make a discount and I expect it to work everywhere. I shouldn't have to do it twice. Square really needs to get is act together and make a better website for doing sales and a website. Seriously, the site is the worst I've dealt with.

Is it possible to apply the same discount in store to online?  This seems pretty basic for retail but I can't find a way to do this. I know you can provide a coupon code for online shopping and I know you can create a discount in Square For Retails, but shouldn't a store be able to put items on sale and have that discount be reflected both in store and online?  Help!
