Can Image crop options change only ONE item category, not all categories?

Hello! 

I'm new here, I was hoping to get some guidance (or give feedback if this is not possible).  Within the different categories, it would be really nice to be able to A) change the crop size for just one category and it not effect ALL categories. or B) allow us to change individual images to different crop sizes.  

I personally think either would be extremely helpful.  My different categories have products that vary in sizes and it's hard to choose just one cropped version for ALL. If I make it work for the one cropped version some of my products will be so small in the photo in order to try to accommodate Or else I have to be okay with some of my products getting cut off in the photos. 

Please guide me if there is a way to fix this.  Thank you!

We are struggling with the same issue.  The Studio fabricates sculptures from four inches tall to over five feet tall.  Our wall panels may be in vertical, horizontal, or square orientations.  It is almost impossible to simply import all our existing photos of art pieces without having at least half of them cut off for some works.  The only workaround we've ever discovered is to "letterbox" them by superimposing them over a blank canvas in another photo editing application so they appear to be in the dominant orientation.  For taller works, this really detracts from the visual impact of the piece.

Most artists we know have had similar problems and many elect to use solutions other than Square because of this.  We strongly advocate that this issue be prioritized in future update roadmaps.  Thank you.

Same issue here. I presume everybody who has varying sizes and orientations of product images sorted into Categories is going to have this issue. This really should be a priority "fix."

I would like to highlight our various product categories in a separate Section on our Home page (in addition to the Navigation menu.) But Square forces me to choose one crop factor for all products across all Categories -- not helpful.
