I credited a customer's return to a gift card, but I should have credited their credit card. How can I void that gift card and credit the original form of payment? When I go back to transaction history, I cannot issue a refund because it says it was already done (credited to gift card)
Hi @Thosejonesgirls! Unfortunately there wouldn't be a way to reverse that. Once you've added a credit onto a gift card, you're not able to take money off of that gift card and put it onto a credit card.
You would probably want to clear the balance of that gift card, and then work with your customer to issue a refund outside of Square (check, cash, etc.)
