Can I use a Adesso Nuscan 4100B to read product barcodes at checkout?

I saw a post stating only a Socket 7Ci device could be used, but that was three years ago. I now have a newer device from Adesso, a NuScan 100B, that says it will work with anything. Will it?

We keep a full running list of tested and approved compatible third-party devices, @sandyswoodshopp - you can find the barcode scanner section right here. I don't see the Adesso NuScan 100B listed, which means our hardware team hasn't tested the device with our software, so we can not currently guarantee compatibility.
