I have a few products that are introducing a minimum advertised price that I would like to sell on my square online store. Is there a way to hide the prices until they get into the checkout screen so I can sell below? I would like to keep the price the same as in store for customers.
@bmillingco without getting into doing some sort of log in or custom url for just those people, I would look at coupon codes for those items. You only get the coupon price in the cart and not when you are just browsing. You could list the price and then put the coupon code and say "enter at checkout" for the exclusive price. I am pretty sure you can restrict the coupon code to an individual item and limit the duration and # you give out also. This would effectively accomplish what you are wanting.
What you are asking for is a very advanced selling technique and is usually on custom site builds from what I have seen, but you can get there.
If the supplier has a MAP, that usually means that is the Lowest you can sell the product at without the risk of loosing that supplier. We ran into the reverse situation. We had a Supplier that had a MAP, problem was Amazon contacted them and had a legal team show up at the suppliers place. Long Story short Amazons legal team had their own contract that said Amazon could set their own MAP. By Amazon doing this a lot of smaller sellers like my business could no longer sell the products. The supplier tried to sue Amazon for being under the MAP. My warning is just make sure you can sell under the MAP. Even at a checkout, since the price is stated online does that equal an advertised price?
