Can I do a test order on the e-comm site?

I would like to complete a test order to see what it looks like from the customer side, and how I will be notified of the sale, but I can't find a way to do it without submitting a full order and thus paying fees.  Am I missing something?

@booksellenewbie The way I did it was to first create an online Coupon code, which I called ChipTest defined as 100% off.  Then I create a test order and when I get to the payment screen in my store, I apply that code.  Everything will work for you just as the customer will see it.

You can always void the transaction from your transaction list so it won’t mess with your sales and such.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Not gift card.  Coupon.  I’ll send instructions in next post.

Go to dashboard, then Online -> Items -> Coupons.  Click Add Coupon.  Name it, make it 100% off all orders, never expires, and unlimited so you can use it as often as you want.  It’s your private coupon code unless you share it.

Thank you!  yes I said the wrong word.  Sometimes I get stuck in my list of POS items which is different than my online offerings, so I haven't become well versed with switching back and forth.  I appreciate the help.

You’re welcome.  And trust me, I know the feeling.  We have online coupon codes, POS discount codes, marketing coupons — all different names for the same functionality.  One day Square will make them all work together and work the same way with the same definitions and we will all rejoice!  LOL.  Good luck with your new e-commerce site!
