I have a 1st gen. i-Pad stand POS. Barcode reader, cash drawer receipt printer and card chip reader and kitchen printer are all connected to the system. I would like to add a second i-Pad stand to do the same thing that the first one is doing - take customers order, chip read cards, open cash drawer, print receipt and send order to kitchen printer.
I am basically looking to have two i-Pad stands and card reader at the ordering counter, but both are "talking" to the one cash drawer, receipt printer and kitchen printer. Is this possible and if so, what hardware am I needing to purchase ?
Thanks.
@Cmdavis86 I do this at my shop. However, my printer is a network-connected printer that controls the cash drawer. So I can connect as many POS devices as I want to that same printer/cash drawer and it works just fine. This would NOT be possible with a printer/drawer that is directly connected to your first POS. Since kitchen printers are usually also network connected printers, they should be no problem to connect to as many POS devices as you want. It’s a matter of configuring each POS only.
Remember that payment readers can not be connect to more than one POS. So if you have a contactless reader on your first iPad, you’ll need a second one on your second iPad.
So, I’ll ask — how are your cash drawer and receipt printer and kitchen printer connected to your current POS?
