Automatic suggested email address for receipts

Hi!

I'm a merchant who happily uses Square for payment processing on my cell phone with a card reader. Recently, with each transaction, it has been suggesting my (seller's) personal email address for each customer transaction, instead of leaving the field blank, or suggesting the email address linked to the customer's card. I can't figure out how to turn that off. Is it my Square app? My phone settings? I would appreciate any advice!!

Hey @Steph-and-Tea - I've never heard of this problem before, but if you have an iPhone, I have a feeling it may have to do with the Predictive Text feature which will start suggesting words or email/home addresses that are typed into the phone often. You can turn this off by going to Settings > General > Keyboard > disable Predictive.

 

I'm not sure of the steps for Android devices as they vary, but I'm sure there are steps available with a quick Google search of your device.

 

If that doesn't work, shoot an email or call to our CS team and they may be able to advise on any further troubleshooting steps for you after taking a look at your account.

I would agree it is a setting in your phone or an app on your phone like lastpass or another form filling app.
