[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Having a tip get calculated on a total ticket when there is a deposit involved.]
I run a fishing charter business, when someone books a trip I take a $200 deposit. When I go to close out the ticket after the trip is over, say a customer now owes $800 on a $1000 trip, square only calculates the tip on the $800. So every time a customer chooses a 20% tip option I lose out on $40, totally unacceptable for my little business. So what is the best way for me to set up my tickets so that at the end of the transaction when a customer chooses the 20% tip option the calculated tip is $200 on the total ticket vs $160 on only the balance owed?
Hello @CaptJohnny,
Thank you for posting in the Seller Community. Welcome.
We definitely hear you out on this. Currently we do not have the ability to charge the tip on the full amount including the deposit.
We definitely see how it could benefit your business model. Our teams are constantly looking through our seller's feedback to make necessary improvements, and we will be sure to let you know if anything ever changes or if new updates are released.
