We have a customer that is not going to move forward with a service with our company but we have collected a deposit via her credit card on square that we now need to return. Are the fees reversed when we issue her a credit, additionally are there any other fees assessed in doing the credit?
Hi there, @RandR! Sorry for the confusion.
When a refund is issues, the entire amount (fee included) is returned to the customer. In other words, the customer receives their full amount that they payed and you are not charged anything.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi @USEagle! Thanks for reaching out. I've merged your post to an existing thread that will help answer your question in more detail, but, no, there are no fees for issuing refunds. The customer will get the full amount back and we will only debit your account $96.80.
I'm not sure if this is the right board group. I have a website. My customer made a purchase but now wants a refund. The fees have been taken and funds deposited into my acct. When I issue her a refund I know she gets all of her money back but am I being charged for the transaction still? I cannot seem to find any clear answer on this.
if a customer makes a $100 reservation and then has to cancel and get a refund so, what are my charges paid to square for the entire transaction?
