I've been using Square appointments for a while and it syncs with my Google calendar. Last night a client was able to double book an appointment. Both clients booked online themselves. I have never had this issue before and I'm wondering if it's something that I inadvertently changed? Anyone else had this problem before?

Looking at your Settings > Calendar & Booking, is "Allow multiple services to be booked online" toggled on? If so, that would allow your clients to double book services. By default, this setting is turned off — is there any chance you or another business partner turned it on?

I am having the double booking issue too. it is booking over other appointments. It is alos booking over my personal calendar. its a nightmare. did anyone find a solution to this? thank you

I have reached out ... but have not heard back. I cant even tell if anyone is looking because when you send square support an email request it goes into some blackhole. i never get any automate update telling me that my request is receved and someone is looking at it
I was having a similar issue. The setting everyone mentions above was turned off but my calendar was still allowing people to double book. I found the issue. Posting here in case anyone else benefits.
I had multiple names listed in the Staff section of Square Appointments. My services were connected to all of those names. When a customer booked a time slot, Square assigned that appointment to one of the names in my Staff list. Because there were other Staff names still available, the calendar was allowing other customers to grab the same time slot but assign it to another staff member. Once I cleaned that up (by connecting the Service to ONLY ONE staff name), the opportunity to double book went away.

Unfortunately that was not a fix for us @sarat755 There is only 1 staff member and it is still double booking.
Hi, it looks like we're starting to experience this issue as well. After yesterday's outage (April 27th, 2022) where the appointments site went down for a few hours (our clients were getting a 404 everytime they tried to book), we are now seeing this situation
This is the availability to our customers who are booking. It shows 12:20pm as available for a 20 minute slot

But our internal calendar shows that someone has already booked a 12:30pm slot. This would mean that if they took the 12:20 slot, it would overlap the 12:30pm already

I am now having the same issue. I have my Google calendars synced, but square is still allowing people to overbook already set appointments as well as my personal calendar. I do not have it set to where people can book multiple services at a time. I checked availability for a date that I know for a fact is completely booked, but square is offering it as wide open. Help!!
Hey @matronmedusa , are your appointments in Google Calendar blocked off as busy? That way it will block off the time in the Appointments calendar. I would double-check that, If so reach out to our Appointments Team at 1-855-700-6000 squ.re/contactsqsupport for further assistance.

That's not the issue... It's allowing clients to book over times already booked by clients through Square; not just personally added stuff to Google. But yes, I have also made sure to mark my manually added stuff as "busy."
