Accepting payments via Contracts

If a client makes a payment via a contract, will the system auto-generate an invoice?

Hey @JaeHermann7

How did the customer make the payment or have they yet?  Based off this article, you can attache the contract to a transaction, or create an invoice, and attache the contract to the invoice to where they can then make the payment agreed upon.

Let me know when you can.

I got it all figured out, but the workflow is really convoluted. Clients missed the attached invoice or contract, whichever way I send it, so I had to add "instructions" in the message area for them. It's fine now but could be more streamlined. I'm doing my best not to go to Honeybook.

By the way, no one makes a payment before signing a contract. That's the whole point of creating the contract, so they know the terms before paying for the service. It's discourteous to send an invoice requesting payment before the client reads the contract terms. Ideally, there should be a way to add payment details AND accept payment in the contract like all of the other popular providers do. Square needs to get with the times. More folks are service providers vs. brick + mortar and need streamlined virtual workflows to meet client needs.
