Hi there, I’m pretty well versed in adding “Variation” for Items in Square. However, In setting up “Service”, there does not seem to be any ability to add a Variation.
Why is this important to me? 1., ease of tracking exactly what the client wants. 2. Metrics to analyse trends.
No, I’m not interested in creating it as an “Item”, as I like it how it is and I’ve already got sales on the “Service” I offer.
I offer Skate Sharpening services (among others). I always ask the client Which “Radius of Hollow” they want, or what I suggest moving them to. Each time they come for a sharpen, there will be a record of what variation they had on previous visits. There are many options (12 in total)- think of it as a Shirt, all the same design, but different sizes. I always record in the “notes” of the service what I’m giving them, however having a pre-populated drop down would considerable time on my end (and employees) instead of having to remember to type in. If they book online, they can pre-select which Size(hollow)/variation they want, and it just gets workflow better- especially on the feast days before a busy hockey weekend.
We also offer Ski/Snowboard tuning. I could record easier the base and side edge bevel angles, or even the temperature/condition type of the wax we use.
For a someone in the beauty industry, this may be effective for perhaps different colours of hair dye or make up- or aroma of a Massage oil for a masseuse.
None of this is really any price difference, it just offers a trackable variation to a service to see where the trends are, How we can plan our “bookings” or capital investment in consumables or what to market.
Thanks.
