Square is now offering a stand-alone labor management subscription called Square Shifts, which allows you to easily manage your team with POS-integrated time tracking, tip-management solutions, scheduling, and payroll prep. Shifts features were previously available only through Square Team Management. Breaking out Shifts features provides more optionality, so you can subscribe only to the products you need. Square Shifts offers two subscriptions, depending on your team size.
2. [New] Introducing Square Gift Card Marketplaces

Just in time for the holidays, you now have more ways to sell your eGIft Cards using public, online Gift Card Marketplaces. When you offer eGift Cards through Square, you can also appear in public gift card registries belonging to our partners, including Thnks, TruCentive and Giftogram. Appearing in these directories allows customers to browse and purchase digital eGift cards from your business and other businesses like you.

4. [Upcoming] American Express and Square Partner to Create First Credit Card for Square Sellers

American Express (NYSE: AXP) and Square announced an expansion of their relationship and plans to launch a new credit card built specifically for Square sellers on the American Express network.
The new card will be the first credit card Square offers to its community of small business owners in the U.S. It will integrate directly with Square’s broader ecosystem of solutions, empowering sellers to organize their finances and manage their cash flow from the same platform they use to run their business.
5. [New] Invoices Plus: Edit the Names of Your Invoice and Estimate Fields

Our newest Square Invoices Plus customization feature lets you select the appropriate field name on an invoice or estimate so it matches your business needs.
- Tailor field names such as Quantity and Price so your invoices match the type of work you do.
- Include details on your invoice or estimate that reflect the industry you’re in and build trust among your customers.
- Send your customers personalized invoices or estimates that show off your brand and contain all the right details.
6. [New] Create Items Faster with Auto Create on Register

Sourcing and selling new items is a fundamental part of your business that takes careful thought and energy — but creating those items on any of your devices should be quick and easy. That’s why we’ve brought our Auto Create functionality to your Square Register making creating new items faster and easier in more places. Now you can scan a barcode or search by name or GTIN to create items in your item library across your Square Register, Square for Retail iOS app, and in your Square Dashboard.
7. [Improvement] Vendor Edit Screen UI Update in Dashboard

We’ve recently made some improvements to the edit Vendor tab within Square Dashboard. This new user interface update will provide many user experience updates including the following improvements:
- Vendor codes and unit costs can now be updated in the list view for faster editing
- Added search capability in the Items view for faster editing of vendor codes and unit costs
- Item variations have been pulled out from an accordion list to better access all items
- Usability of multiple form fields has been updated by giving “hint” text for additional guidance on what text should go in that field
8. [New] Add Multiple Bank Accounts to Receive Funds

You can now add multiple bank accounts to your Square accounts to easily change where you receive your transfers across your business locations. If you have a business with multiple locations, each location can share a single bank account or you can link a unique bank account to each one. Now, you can also link multiple bank accounts to your Square account to disperse your payments balance and more easily switch bank accounts between your locations.
9. [New] Save time with Batch Invoicing on Invoices Plus

Spending more time than you’d like invoicing customers each month? Simplify your billing process with batch invoicing. Save time by emailing the same invoice to multiple customers at once, instead of creating individual ones for each customer.
- Invoicing multiple customers at the same time lets you receive payment faster, leaving you with more time to focus on your work.
- Get more time back to run your business by spending less time filling out and sending invoices each month.
- Create groups of customers that you charge regularly for the same service, such as membership fees, so you can invoice the entire group in one go.
10. [New] Square Appointments Now Available on the Square Terminal

Square Appointments is now available on the Square Terminal! With this launch, Appointments is now available on all Square hardware. This has been a highly requested capability from sellers for a long time, and we’re excited to finally make APOS (Appointments Point of Sale) available to Terminal sellers.
11. [New] Square Appointments: No-Show Protection Now Blocks Prepaid Debit Cards

We heard your feedback that clients use prepaid debit cards with insufficient funds to avoid paying a no-show or last-minute cancellation fee. To address this, the Appointments team has launched an improvement to the “No-Show Protection” feature where a prepaid debit card can no longer be used as the no-show payment card on the online booking site, even if the prepaid debit card is saved as a “Card on File.”
