I use Square to check out at vendor events and so I have all my stock in the app and showing on my website. Because I am often at vendor events or not at home when someone wants to order an item, I would like to see some of the following integrations in order to ensure the items are available to the people ordering and I can take the item out of my stock if I am at an event.
These features are available through a website called YouMeWho.com, but that doesn't sync with Square and so I would be having to manage both inventories and I am hoping to streamline and use square exclusively.
1. Order without payment - request to purchase/reserve so that I can confirm stock and make sure everything is bundled properly or offer a discount to customers when they pick up their orders rather than having to reimburse them if there was an inventory discrepancy or a discount should have been applied. They should need to include a phone number and email and if they are requesting delivery they should include an address at the time of reservation so I can contact them and know where I will need to deliver items to. By doing this I can then reactivate the option to check out on the website, and I can either turn it off if I want to halt reservations while I am at events or I can leave it on and just pull stock from my items at the event to avoid selling them when I receive the order email.
2. Available item quality is reduced on the website or list the total number that is "on hold" for customers to see so that any items that have been reserved are not available to purchase - similar to a store physically placing an item on hold.
3. Option to cancel the request by shop owner and items would be returned to store inventory
with a "cancel request and restock inventory" button. Similar to a physical store returning an item to the shelves.
4. Preferred method of payment at pickup included at checkout so we know if they would prefer to tap, pay cash (so we can have change available) etc.
