Square no show protection is a joke . I own a salon business. Sometime customer booked online and didn’t show up. Then they blocked the credit card. We can’t even charge it . And when I called square help desk. They told me need contact customer. I was like seriously? If client choose not to show up. You think they gonna pay? I think square need come up with something like pre-authorization credit card. Make sure we can hold the funds first. Just incase this kinda things happened.
I don’t know if this helps you but I’ve started charging a deposit for services. Almost every stylist and facial at I know does. So every time they book I charge a $50 deposit. If they no show I keep it as a no show fee. If they cancel with at least 24 hour notice I give it back or roll it to their next appointment.
