How do i prompt user for quantity when booking appointments and selecting various services?

I've a pickleball court business and can't figure out how to let the user enter quantities for how many hours the want to rent and how many paddles they need to rent, etc.  Also haven't figured out how to even get 'items' to show up on the booking screen, only services? Not really sure if i should be using items or services?

Hi @dbrummer.  Unfortunately, you are pretty much stuck at this point.  While “Services” allows you to add modifiers to it (which would be perfect) those modifiers are only used for checkout after the appointment is completed (on a POS) and not available during the booking process.  Also, “Items” (which would also work for your use case) are not available at all during the booking process.  Hence the proverbial Catch-22 scenario.

 

The only imperfect workaround I can offer is to:

 

  1. Create multiple services for various reservation lengths (1 hour, 2 hours, etc)
  2. Add some verbiage to your Appointments web page to remind guests to tell you in the notes how many paddles they will need, and so forth.

Otherwise, while I’m pretty sure this has already been requested, you can submit a feature request to the Appointments Team here.  Make your case.  Layout what new functionality you need in Online Booking.  They’ll review and get back to you regarding a decision.
