You made it! Welcome to Square’s togetHER community 🙌
Our purpose is for you to find connection, advice, encouragement, and community with fellow women in business and allies. This community is built for and by you, so make it your own.
First step: Introduce yourself in this thread! We want to get to know each and everyone one of you here. Stuck on how you should introduce yourself to other lady bosses? Here are some things to cover: Tell us who you are, what you’re working on and what type of business you own. If you have an online store, feel free to share with the group!
Our guiding principles
We all want productive, friendly conversation propelling us forward. Keep these in mind when posting:
Can’t wait to see your posts and celebrate you! 🎉
Hi ladies! My name is Brooke. My husband and I run a small glass shop in Iowa. We are small but very busy, doing everything for auto, residential, and commercial glass needs. From rock chip repair and cabinet glass to whole storefronts, heavy machinery, custom shower glass, window tinting, etc. We do a lot of estimating and invoicing involving labor hours so I'm really looking to find others utilizing Square who have found creative ways to use the software, especially setting up items and modifiers. It's like Christmas to me whenever Square announces a new feature. Estimates was a great addition! Looking forward to connecting and learning. Thanks to @katieand for the invite!
Hi @NatesGlass! Welcome to togetHER and I'm so glad you like Estimates! We had been waiting for that one for a while 😉
Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions for the product or anything else about invoices!
Right off the bat, one thing I can think of that would be really helpful would be to allow partial quantities in estimates and invoices, 1.3 as an example. This would be nice for shops such as us charging labor hours. 🙂
Hello!
I am a Female Founder of a Woman-owned and operated bed & breakfast, InnThrall, in Seattle. It's very niche (a Kinky B&B), providing a fully-furnished and equipped private, sex-positive, romantic getaway with knowledgeable staff for couples and moresomes! It's my weird little dream job 🙂
I'm excited to connect with others and to offer support/experience where I'm able.
InnThrall is presently coming up on an expansion, so I do have more questions than answers at the moment as this is all foreign territory.
Cheers!
Kathleen
Thanks for sharing @InnThrall! We'd love to see your questions (and answer them if we have those) if you start another thread.
How long have you had your B&B?
Thank you, @katieand, I will start another thread!
InnThrall is about to celebrate it's fourth birthday, though I did not actually advertise for the first two years.
Hello. My name is Stacelyn and I’m the owner of small nail salon named Digits And Spikes Nail Studio. I’m happy to become a member of the community and look forward learning and contributing with an awesome group of women 😊
Hi @Stacelyn24 - we're so glad to have you! How do you get the word out about your business? Are you using social media or have traditional marketing?
I’m happy to be here. We use social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. We also send out newsletters to our website subscribers. I’m checking into the marketing and loyalty program with square but currently because of the price we use the marketing newsletter that’s included with our website server and punch cards:)
Hi @Stacelyn24
I do my own marketing newsletter with MailChimp because it has a lot of integrations but I actually found some really cool ways to blend the Square marketing with the other programs I use.
There's ways to do texts or emails to customers that are automatically sent out and I've done some of mine to send customers coupons. Right now i also have an auto-marketing text/email set up thru Square Marketing that says "Check Us Out On Facebook" and sends our FB page link to customers after they bought something.
This is cool because Square's marketing text is kind of like a little thank you note for buying something and then if they want they can easily follow us on Facebook.
@sj12 , Hi! Is there a fee with the Square marketing text/email + Facebook link you are talking about?
Thanks!
Hi all!
I'm way overdue on my intro here, but my name is Puka. I'm another Community Moderator for the Square Seller Community and I've been with Square for a little over 4 years now.
When I'm not hanging out in the Community, I run my own screenprinting business with my dad where we design our own clothing as well as do custom work for clients. I'm also an aspiring filmmaker so I do a lot of video and audio editing work. On top of that, I'm learning how to do UX design so some of you may hear from me to get your thoughts on the design of the Community and ways we can improve it for you all. 😉
Outside of my creative pursuits, I spend most of my free time with my dog and try to find ways for Her Royal Laziness to pay her portion of rent (still working on it).
So excited to connect and get to know all of you!

Stacelyn, what a great name for your business!

Hi all,
My name is Kristin and I own a homebrew supply shop with my husband on the Front Range of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. I'm also a veteran, served 8.5 years active duty in the Air Force.
My shop, Elevated Fermentations, has everything you need to make your own beer, cider, wine, mead, kombucha, and more! We focus on local, small business where we can - thus we have local malts, hops, and yeast. We also have carry spices, herbs, flavorings, extracts, SCOBYs, etc. from local or small businesses as well.
I joined this group because I hope to learn some tricks with square as well as network with other female-owned (and perhaps verteran-owned) businesses.
Cheers!
Thanks for your intro @kgawth and happy to have you here! I actually just made my first kombucha brew but I don't think I let it ferment enough because it basically tastes like sweet tea. I'm excited for my second try though.
@Shad is another veteran in the group. Thanks to both of you for your service!
Hi Kristin, also a Colorado resident, although I'm on the other side of the great divide!
Welcome @RhythmandShoes! Please share a bit about your business and what you're aiming to learn from the group 🙂
New members yay! Please introduce yourself, your business, and your favorite ice cream flavor 🍦
Hi guys! I’m late to the party (as usual). My names Karen and I live in Oklahoma. I’m a single mom to 3 kids, well two young adults and one preschooler. I have a handmade business and look forward to learning from all of you!
