Sheโ€™s an ICON โœจ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Yes YOU!

Okay here comes the questionโ€ฆ

What is a female owned business that has inspired you?
via social media, a friend, or someone local!

We got to hear the Founder of Ghost Town Oats (oat milk company and the carton is pink ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ‘ป) and we were just super inspired by her story and it just ignited in us a little spark again after feeling a little burnt out.

We have many that inspire us but this was recent!

canโ€™t wait to hear from you all ๐Ÿ™‚

Such a great question!  I grew up surrounded by women that were hard workers and not afraid to go after their goals all while raising families.  I never once thought that I could not do anything because I was female.  To me, being a female always meant hard work and leadership.

As a teenager I was able to work for one of these women in her flower shop and then also as her and her husband built their house I did clean up jobs and finishing touches.  I was able to watch firsthand how she worked all hours at her shop and then went home and worked even more.  As I do this now myself there are days I wonder if this just complete craziness, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

As I employee a lot of college kids and young mothers I just hope that I am being that same example and they are just not seeing all the craziness that goes into staying busy all the time.

Sassy Jones, created by Charis Jones, has been an inspiration to me for awhile...I love her story of how she started her business and has grown it into what it is today....

For me, the women I've looked up to as entrepreneurs were all independents in their fields.  They weren't owners of large companies.  I can say there are some famous women out there who've been able to own large businesses but I feel that their fame often propels them there and it certainly makes it easier when they don't have to fight for funding.

I had a couple of different mentors in my younger days who were strong as women leaders.  They didn't take no for an answer, they didn't allow someone to tell them what they could and couldn't do and they never let being a wife and a mother impede their ability to be business women.  They are both gone but I learned a lot from them that I still carry with me today.  Part of that is their strength and determination.

It was quite... no kids or grandkids, which sucks, but it is what it is.  How was yours?
