Do you use TikTok for your business?

This question was recently shared as the Question of the Week and we had a wide variety of responses so I wanted to open the discussion here in togetHER too.

Have you tried TikTok? Are you seeing other businesses in your industry adopt TikTok? Do you have any tips to share with someone who is just getting started promoting their business on TikTok?

I'm not on TikTok at all-- too many social media platforms these days, and not enough time to learn all of them, let alone use them well/efficiently for business.

I still haven't caught up with FB Market-- and can't see why I shouldn't be able to just link items to my Sq shop, rather than fill out all the same info in the FB form for each item that is on Sq. And still have problems with Instagram... Tumblr... MeWe... and Linked In isn't really suitable.

No, we don't exploit TikTok as much as Facebook and Instagram. Even though TikTok is a good platform when trying to get your online or small business out there. I've seen a lot of people that use TikTok to start up their business, and their business ends up being very successful. We mostly use Facebook and Instagram because those are our main socials that we use.

I find Tik Tok to be to time consuming and a distraction. 

90% of our customers come from Google search. Different businesses get customers through marketing in different ways. Depends on the business.

Wow, we get about 90% from FB and 10% from Google. Might be the size of the city? We post daily on FB and once a week or so on Google. We are in a metro area of only 226,000 in the county. Plus we have little competition so we dominate on Google. We do no posting on other social. As an art gallery, our artists do their own postings on other social outlets.

I don't find Tik Tok to be a great platform for sales.  Outside of Square, I find that FB/Instagram is much more friendly.  I like the idea that I can create a business page, and then boost ads of choice.

I've been posting Instagram reels for a couple of months now and I've started saving those and posting the on TikTok.  I haven't figured out how to establish a TikTok "Business" account.  After using Facebook boosts for 10+ years, FB seems to be making any promotions more difficult than ever.

We post daily on FB on a business account for our art gallery. About 90% of our responses come from this for events and classes. The other 10% are from emails and Google. Maybe, by your name, things are different in Ireland than US?

Gomer,  Actually my store is Things Celtic, In Dublin, Texas!  I've been using Facebook for many years, I was even a featured speaker during a conference several years ago.  Facebook just isn't getting my store the results it did back then.  thingsceltic.com

My daughter mentioned this to me just a couple days ago. I haven't used TikTok for business yet, I'm planning on doing so though. I've been on Facebook and Instagram with little success, so, I might as well try TikTok.

I am on Tik Tok, instagram, facebook. I find it challenging to get views or orders for my store. Honestly, most of my exposure has been from Fresh Markets and word of mouth. Are there any tips to making social media platforms like tik tok more profitable?

I am on Tic Tok however I’m still pretty new and feeling my way around it. I see many kids viewing my videos but that’s expected since I sell toys, games, and books for kids birth on up. Still figuring it out.

I have just recently started using TikToc along with FB and Instagram. I'm trying to make it a habit of anytime I make a video I uploaded it to TT. I am finding that when I load a video to FB/Instagram, the video cuts off at about the 1 minute mark, unless it's a live video. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. TT let's me upload non-live videos that are up to 3 minutes long.

As far as I know, with IG, the videos are only up to a minute unless it is on live. IDK about facebook as my facebook business page got hacked. I haven't used TikTok yet. I am resistant, because I feel it is a distraction.

I'm on TikTok but I'm mainly hoping to use it for my online baking academy platform, versus the actual bakery. I think if we were to start offering shipping, I might use it for marketing there. Most of my followers on TikTok are not local so it would be hard to use it in the capacity like we do on instagram.
