Good morning Derrick!
Per my last email, Square's subscription refund policy is 3 months or a maximum of $150 dollars. There was already $60 refunded on 3/4/2024 prior to the manager/supervisor request, therefore the remaining $90 was given. This cannot be changed or modified. This decision is final.
Take care,
Danese

Subject: Re: Square Support no refund
Hi @Shabazz. I usually bypass posts like yours because my answers aren’t usually good enough for the OP, I’ve learned from sad experience. But I’ll give it a shot since you seem like you really want to know what is going on, and you aren’t just complaining to complain, I don’t think.
I can only assume from what is written above that you must have kept paying for a certain Square subscription for more than 3 months before you realized that you were being charged for something you meant to cancel but didn’t. If that is the case, (and like I said, I’m just guessing here so don’t get upset with me.) then Square like all subscription-offering services does have limits on how long ago they’ll allow refunds to be requested for. This is a common and accepted business practice, and Square is not alone here. They are assuming that all of us reconcile our accounts on a regular basis (at least monthly) to stay on top of these things.
Now, if you are saying that you did cancel a subscription, that you have proof for that cancellation, and that it wasn’t done as you requested and can prove, then you might have a case here.
Also it’s good to keep in mind a third scenario here. Let’s say that you did a trial subscription and forgot to cancel it before the end of the trail period. Again, in this case this IS something that you “asked for” (to use your words) and the fact that you forgot to cancel, and let it keep charging you for more than three months, is honestly not on Square.
But, again, there is not enough information above for me to know which scenario might apply to you.
I’m sure that “Danese” replied as instructed. More than likely they discussed your case with a higher up at Square. No, Danese is not the boss of Square, but Square is their boss, Square has instructed Danese how to handle these issues, and they seem to have done so according to the policies that I have read about Square subscriptions.
Ultimatly, everything I have said here is based on guess because you did not post enough information to know what is really going on. If you want to clarify the scenario we might be able to help you narrow it down. But hopefully what I’ve said clarified what seems to be going on.
Regards,
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
actually I’ve contacted them every month it started. They couldn’t find the charge they said. Finally after months I reached a lady by the name of Angel. She found the subscription noticed I never ordered it was going to reverse it and the higher up said no.
so my opinion is crazy business policy
@Shabazz I appreciate the extra information. That helps fill in a few blanks. Given what you just told me, I can see where you might have a “case” (as it were) for some flexibility with the refund policy. However, since I’m just a fellow seller, what I say is not worth much. So, I’m going tag a few Community moderators. I’m betting that one of them can pick up the ball here and move it towards your goal, or at least closer. I wish I could do more, but we’ve reached the limit here. Good luck!
