When i bill someone 75$ & they pay. Why do i not get the full balance even with the card?

I sat down with another business person who uses square. Who informed me that if I get the square card I will no longer have to pay the transfer fee. Say I bill someone for 75$ and she billed for 75$ at the same time. She receives the full 75$ and I don't. I received like 72$. Even though we both are doing it the exact same way. I got the card to avoid the fees. Yet I'm still being charged the fee.im confused.

I think the way she is avoiding fees may be that she referred another square user within the past 180 days, meaning she doesn’t pay transaction fees for either the next $1000 or 180 days, whichever comes first. I hope this helps you to understand why you are still paying transaction fees!

Hi there @Jami7182 👋

I just wanted to further clarify here for ya - you will always pay processing fees when accepting cards using Square. To process a sale, there are several types of set fees within a transaction, including interchange fees, assessment fees, and risk and PCI compliance fees. These are not set by Square, but by cardholder banks and card networks. They are included as part of Square’s card processing fee. You can learn more about those fees here

With the Square Card, you have immediate access to the funds you earn right on your Square Card. If you did not have a Square Card, and wanted to access your funds instantly, you would have to pay the Instant Transfer fee in order to access your funds immediately.

I hope this helps, and welcome to the Seller Community
