AVG has blocked access to the Online part of my square account (weebly) by suggesting it is a dangerous phishing URL. Is this true that Weebly has now become a scam site??
Hi @RobynT,
Thanks for reaching out to us. I can certainly appreciate your concern, so I'd be happy to provide some information to help clarify what you might be experiencing here.
Antivirus software like AVG can sometimes block websites or their features due to false-positive detections. While these systems are designed to protect you, they can sometimes flag safe sites incorrectly, causing issues like this. I’ve taken a look at your site on my end, and I'm not encountering the errors you mentioned, which suggests your antivirus software may have incorrectly flagged your site. If you temporarily disable your antivirus software, then try accessing your site again, you should have the same experience as me.
You could consider excluding your site and affected files from scanning within your software’s settings. This will mark the site and items as safe, so that you’re able to access them as normal.
Another option is to contact AVG directly. I’ve done some research, and in similar cases, AVG recommends submitting the website for false-positive analysis on this page. You can also visit AVG’s Support Centre here.
I hope this helps clarify things! If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach back out to us here. 😊
